The Wombats

By: Rickelle Hunt

The Wombats stopped back at the Boston House of Blues after four long years since their last show here. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the bands’ comeback to the city, many people began forming a long line outside the venue hours prior to the set time in below freezing temperatures. The trio consisting of Matthew Murphy, Tord Øverland Knudsen, and Dan Haggis, put on a one of a kind show stopping performance every single time they perform. The bands engagement with the audience is exhilarating, they make sure to have the crowds undivided attention by dancing with an energetic life-sized Wombat and drumming on a giant Rubix Cube.

The fifth studio album just released on January 14, 2022 titled Fix Yourself, Not the World, has been dominating the charts. The live performance included many new songs on the setlist, such as, "If You Ever Leave, I’m Coming with You", "Method To The Madness", and "This Car Drives All By Itself". The crowd jumped and sang to the new songs just as much as the older favorites like “Lemon To A Knife Fight”, “Pink Lemonade”, and “Greek Tragedy”.
