Boston Calling Music Festival
By: Elizabeth Wiltshire
What’s better than three days of amazing food, live music, visual art, and comedy in one of the best cities on the East coast? Nothing!
This weekend, the 5th annual Boston Calling Music Festival is taking place at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, MA. This three-day, multi-stage festival has become a common way for Bostonians and visitors to kick off the summer. This years musical guests feature, but are not limited to, acts such as The Killers, Paramore, Jack White, Manchester Orchestra, The Menzingers, Khalid, and Zola Jesus. The variety of genres guarantees that no matter what type of music a festival goer is into, there’s a performance for them.
Although Boston Calling is most known for its amazing music lineups, the visual and comedic arts shouldn’t be overlooked. Guests can look forward to seeing performances by stars such as Natalie Portman, Cameron Esposito, and Lovett or Leave It.
Everyone has varying tastes when it comes to music and comedy, but one thing everyone at Boston Calling has in common is a love for food. The festival has no lack of options and it’s not uncommon to be overwhelmed by the plethora of incredible food. Some vendors include Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Bon Me, Union Square Donuts, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and Whole Heart Provisions. Those over 21 can enjoy drinks from Miller Lite, Samuel Adams, Mikkeller, and Barefoot, with additional spirit vendors.
