The electric alternative rock band Citizen return to Boston on their USA Tour 2023, accompanied by Narrow Head & Modern Color. The group of four under the label Run for Cover Records consists of consists of Mat Kerekes (vocals), Mason Mercer (rhythm guitar), Ben Russin (drums), & brothers Nick (lead guitar) and Eric Hamm (bass). The band has recently been showing off their fifth studio album Calling All The Dogs released this October. With the setlist including new songs like, “Heavy Trophy” and “If You’re Lonely” the energetic fans lift one another up with on-going crowd surfing, moshing, jumping, and shouting. As fans ride a wave of adrenaline and excitement becoming part of the show I had the pleasure of watching from a bird’s-eye view above the joyful chaos. The forever adored album Youth (2013) made an appearance on the nights setlist with crowd favorites like, “The Summer” , “The Night I Drove Alone” and “Sleep”. The band has been praised for their deeply emotional lyrics and talented high energy performances for countless years.
