Defy the Sun Tour

By Jennifer Pinckney

I was stoked to see the final show of this tour in Charlotte, NC. Four incredibly talented bands were on the list tonight and I knew I was in for a good show. It was November 27th, the day before Thanksgiving and my friends from Kirra were the first to take the stage at 7:30pm. These guys brought the heat with the rocking riffs, head-banging melody and drumming beats, even though they were “clipped” all over from the other bands. Be sure to check them out, give them a like and follow them to see when they are coming to your area.

Next up was the very talented guys in Lullwater from Athens, GA. The boys continued the rocking the rock show and brought in more rock fans. As the tradition goes, the last night of a tour, bands enjoy pulling pranks on each other. Lullwater was “Christmased” by the other guys.

The room quickly filled up for one of my person favorites… OTHERWISE! The boys gave us lots of new tracks off their newest CD, which we all were dying to hear, along with a couple of our forever favorites. The other band guys came out with quite a few nerf guns and began a nerf gun war on stage during their set. Pretty epic. Never a dull moment with these guys. Go get their new cd “Defy.”

Last but certainly not least was non other than Blacktop Mojo. I love the energy these guys bring to the stage. They are just good ol’ fashioned rock, and they perform it perfectly. Matt’s vocals draw your attention away from everything else, but then when Catt comes around the corner with his big bass and “mischevious” eyes, you can help but to just put your hands up and rock along with them. They probably were pranked the best. All of the other guys brought out what seemed to be all the toilet paper that they had left. They got “TP-ed” very good. Well done guys. Hope to see this line up come back around again soon! Defy the Sun tour Pt. 2! (fingers crossed).
