The Octane Accelerator Tour | Ice Nine Kills
By: Mary Welch
With my friends in Awake At Last taking the stage, there was no better way to kick off the night. They played in front of the biggest crowd I’ve seen them in front of yet, which was awesome seeing their growth over the past year and a half of knowing them. My expectations for Light the Torch and Fit For A King were exceeded too, as I feel they both have really improved since the last time I saw them as well.
Last spring, I saw Ice Nine Kills and I will never forget that show. They opened with “The American Nightmare” based off the movie Nightmare on Elm Street, and the sound quality and energy right off the bat is something I don’t think I will see again for a while. But this weekend, it was surely as close as it gets. I was very, very excited for their 20 song long setlist considering I haven’t listened to many albums other than The Silver Scream in the last few months. One of the things I looked forward to most on this tour is that they played “The Fastest Way To A Girl’s Heart Is Through Her Ribcage” from their 2014 album The Predator Becomes the Prey, as well as The World In My Hands from The Silver Scream. This tour runs until the end of November, do whatever you can to not miss out on this one!
