The countdown to the Vans Warped Tour is down to the wire with only 9 days remaining before everyone's favorite bands, vendors, and non profits hit the road for another sick, sweaty, successful summer. Try saying that four times fast! The lineup is always filled with a mix of warped veterans and newcomers, and never fails to provide a plethora of music for fans young and old. Go see the bands you've been listening to on repeat and cannot wait to see live, but definitely go check out bands you've never heard off because you could find your new favorite band to your surprise. This week highlights two bands playing warped tour all summer for the very first time, Sylar and I Prevail.

Hailing from the "Big Apple", Sylar is set to rule the Mutant North stage with other metal/hardcore bands alike such as Hatebreed and Fit For A King. I've seen Sylar a few times now when they toured with Attila and New Years Day, both are playing this summer as well which comes to no surprise. The bands that tour together usually play warped together. Sylar's vocalist Jayden Panesso delivers such raw, sincere screams that blend brilliantly with the bands guitarist and "clean" vocalist Miguel Cardona, as heard in their song "Soul Addiction". Sylar is signed to Hopeless Records and their latest album Help is out now, check it out and catch them on Warped Tour at a stop near you!

I Prevail has accomplished so much recently with music and touring. This is their first year playing the whole summer on Warped Tour, and they have a spot on the Journeys Left Foot main stage. The band embarked on a headlining tour across the United States to promote their newest album Lifelines from mid February to mid May. Most shows, including the one I attended in Boston, were SOLD OUT, with seven back to back sold out shows in Australia between North American dates. I Prevail is taking the rock/metal core music scene by storm, which is no surprise since songs like "Stuck In My Head" contain catchy, creative beats and lyrics. I highly recommend watching their set when Warped Tour rolls into town!
