Last night I had the honor of seeing Imagine Dragons in Cincinnati. The show left me absolutely speechless. It was a night of amazing music, love, power, and the most intense lighting you will ever encounter. As someone who is big on visuals, seeing light up prisms beaming across the stage, balloons and confetti that bursted into vapor, and intense light displays across the ceiling made my heart explode. This show surpassed any visual display I could ever imagine, I was scared to blink, I didn't want to miss of a second. Then their was the reason why we were all there: Imagine Dragons. Woah. I have never seen someone take the stage with such electrifying energy and passion at all once.
Imagine Dragons played 20 songs all together, with a fair mix of songs from Night Visions and Evolve. Some of my favorites were "Whatever It Takes," and "I'm on Top of the World," which was accompanied by balloons all around. The second song was "It's Time," which Dan Reynolds prefaced talking about love, and kindness. This performance started off a Capella and gave me goosebumps, it was absolutely beautiful. The most powerful moment of the night was when Dan spoke about how we cannot sensitize depression and anxiety. He spoke about how we all have 'demons,' but that it's okay to get help. This led into a powerful performance of one of my personal favorites, "Demons."
Half way through, Imagine Dragons switched to a stage in the back of the arena for a three song acoustic set. The acoustic performance of "Bleeding Out" brought me to tears, it was so vulnerable and honest. Everyone had their cell phone lights in the air during this magical set. The massive finale was phenomenal. "Thunder / I Bet My Life / Believer / Radioactive" - one hit after another. More confetti and cannons as everyone was singing and dancing along to their favorite songs. This show was absolutely incredible, I highly recommend seeing Imagine Dragons in concert.
