The adored Northern Ireland indie pop group Two Door Cinema Club return to Boston at the Roadrunner with support from Rochesters favorite alternative rock band Joywave. Making for an unforgettable sold out show with fans buzzing with anticipation as the line wrapped around the block. The energy was infectious seeing the venue packed with enthusiastic passionate fans for each band.
Taking the stage first starting the show is the beloved classic fan favorite Joywave consisting of Daniel Armbruster (vocals), Joseph Morinelli (guitar), Paul Brenner (drums) and Kevin Mahoney (bass). Regardless of the bands last visit to Boston in just April of last year, fans are always just as eager to see the high energy electric group with every visit back in this city. Joywave undoubtedly always puts on an unforgettable performance with a heavy bass that pulsates through your body. They have a unique sound setting them apart from most artists today and have grown astronomically over the past 10+ years. The bands latest release “Brain Damage” has a catchy upbeat vibe to it, with an infectious hook and a great blend of electronic elements. The setlist had a diverse blend of tracks from a variety of their hit albums such as “Dangerous” (2015), “Tongues” (How Do You Feel Now?) 2015, “Golden State” (Koda Vista) 2012, “It’s a Trip!”(Content) 2017, “After Coffee” (Cleanse) 2022, and “Obsession” (Possession) 2020. The band mentioned a return to Boston October 2024 as they take off on another headlining tour, keep an eye out for upcoming tickets.
