the end of the beginning tour

Bones UK, nothing, nowhere., and grandson gave Nashville an absolutely incredible concert at the Cannery Ballroom. Bones UK took the stage by storm, getting the crowd hyped from the start. Rosie Bones and Carmen Vandenberg instantly started shredding on their guitars, showing that they weren’t messing around. Their witty banter made their set even more enjoyable. Vocalist, Rosie Bones, spoke about toxic masculinity and being told that “girls can’t play guitar,” and how they’ve proved every standard wrong. Highly recommend catching Bones UK at a show - they are phenomenal! Up next was nothing, nowhere. I’ve always admired Joe Mulherin. He writes, produces, and performs all of his original pieces for nothing, nowhere. This was my first time seeing them live and I was definitely moved. nothing, nowhere radiates so much emotion and power. nothing, nowhere. just released an EP with Travis Barker, BLOODLUST, and it is available on all major music platforms now - check it out!
Let me preface this by telling you why you need to appreciate / check out “grandson.” Jordan Benjamin (grandson) is only 25, and has already made a huge impact on so many people. He is using his platform as an artist to help others find their voice, have the courage to stand up for themselves, and to fight for their rights. grandson founded the XX RESISTANCE FUND, which serves to “empower youth and connect passionate people with ways to get involved in the progressive causes they care about. Through events, collaborations with charities, and organizations across the world, and brand partnerships, XX RESISTANCE will empower people to participate in the fight for social good.” I was able to shoot this show and go behind the scenes via their collaboration with Girls Behind the Rock Show, a non-profit highlighting female empowerment within the music industry. GBTRS is fantastic at connecting females with jobs, internships, and networking with other badasses. I shadowed grandson’s tour photographer, Henry Kornaros, for the day. He gave me advice on touring, getting into the industry, and photography. Henry, Nolan (grandson’s tour manager), and Jordan were extremely helpful, encouraging, and the kindest people ever.
grandson’s set was unreal. The entire band was extremely energetic, constantly jumping all over the stage. grandson jumped into the crowd near the end of his set, and the entire time he was on stage he was radiating energy and excitement. The banter in between songs really helped each song hit close to home. grandson sang every song with 200% emotion, it was all so authentic and for two hours I felt like everything was right in the world. Also, as someone who has works in live music, the production was one of my absolute favorites. The LED screens had powerful videos/lyrics on the backs, interchanging to different colored lights and strobe lights. You could feel the music. Please, go to a grandson show so you can experience what this is all about. If you want chills, tears, joy, and a fucking great time - this is your show.
