The Veer Union
By Sandy Beitler
It’s a Sunday night (of all nights) at a small venue in Louisville Kentucky called “The Tiger Room” where I
got the pleasure of seeing an amazing band called “The Veer Union” for the first time. I am not sure how
these guys have been around for a decade and I am just seeing them for the first time! The Veer Union
has such powerful music that is relatable to a wide variety of music lovers. From hard thrashing to softer
alternative styles alike, and their stage show is so full of energy that it rivets your full attention.
It was the final show on their tour before heading back home to Canada, and for being the end of a tour
with countless nights of shows, lack of sleep from living on the road and dealing with the transmission
failing on them in their van, these guys played like it was the first night of a tour. The lead singer, Crispin
Earl was so engaging, (he even brought a 10 year old fan up on stage for a sing along) and had everyone
in the audience singing along, throwing up horns and banging their heads. It was a small crowd but the
band played like they were playing to a monster arena.
These guys just blew me away with their stage presence, fan appreciation, showmanship and just all
around fun they had on stage. They even doused their tour mates with silly string to celebrate the tour.
If you haven’t checked them out, do yourself a favor and look them up. The Veer Union on facebook,
@theveerunion on Instagram. You won’t be disappointed. If you get a chance to see them live, definitely
go see them. I promise you will leave the show mind blown and a fan.
