The Japanese House return to Boston and put on a heavenly performance. The humble and talented 23-year old, Amber Bain, inspires the whole audience with her brilliant songwriting, layered melodies, and unique synths. The Japanese House’s style is truly like no other. Amber’s technique is one of a kind. I admire how ethereal Bain is, she isn’t afraid to pour her heart out and show us her vulnerable side. This is why me and so many others resonate with her lyrics so much. The Japanese House just released their second album, Good at Falling, on March 1st which features 13 dreamy soundscaping lullabies. Bain shows us what dizzying desolation and the highs of devotion sound like. The setlist incorporated a variety of new and old songs such as “Lilo”, “Cool Blue”, “Follow My Girl”, and “Clean”. I love seeing Amber grow and gain more confidence throughout the years from when I first saw her back in 2016. The Japanese House will be joining The 1975 on a select few dates of their upcoming spring tour. And will also be going on their own headlining 2019 North American tour.
