Summerland

On May 23rd, downtown Nashville was ready to rock with Everclear at one of our newer venues, The Cowan. It’s a newer venue for Nashville, but I highly recommend attending a show here because there is good space, good food, good drinks, great staff and they have a great range of musical artists to come play there. The show started a little late tonight due to some technical difficulties, but we all didn’t mind waiting, I mean, it’s only once a year that we get to see Everclear (if we are lucky enough).
Local H took the stage just after 8pm. I can’t believe the sound that came from just two guys! It’s amazing to hear that talent and see only two guys on the stage when it sounds like the normal 4-5 members. The guys absolutely turned up the heat, and rocked their hearts out with us. I noticed a couple of fans singing along and screaming proudly.
I definitely enjoyed seeing these band play tonight. They were a nice reminder of what I listened to back in the 90s, but even nowadays, their sound hasn’t changed much or at all. They are still the same guys and some great band who was introduced in the early 1990s. Marcy Playgound was super cool to watch. Everyone in the building joined them in singing, “Sex and Candy.”
Everclear made their entrance promptly at 10pm. I was shocked to see Art Alexakis on stage, I mean I knew he was coming out, but damn! His voice sounded incredible! Even if you couldn’t see the band, if you could only hear them live, you would know right away that the band playing for you was Everclear. His voice has a very unique sound to it and I love how it sounds the same after all these years. The band was full of energy as well! I’m glad I was able to stay and enjoy their set and see the guys go from stage left to stage right, and Art killed it on the mic and with his guitar magic. Till next year, I hope to see these guys again next year!
