Tell The Wolves I'm Home - Somber

Whenever I am sent metal or harder rock groups to cover, I always get excited. Tell the Wolves I’m Home is one of those bands that I am definitely excited about. Somber, released just days ago, is their “most honest record as a band,” and all I can think about while listening is how their fanbase is going to rapidly grow after this EP. It is something you can listen to on repeat and not get sick of. The four songs are honest reactions to corruption, loss, and other deep feelings of complacency, betrayal, and loneliness, all of which are relatable in their respective ways. The opening track “Loss,” for example, is straight up metalcore, with a dark mood and beautiful, melodic riff.

Vocalist Cole Kennon says that about Somber, “we wrote the music we wanted to play and wrote lyrics that came straight from our lives. The record truly is one of self-reflection… I think it’s important for artists to not just write what they think people want to hear but also what people need to hear-- this record truly is from the heart.”

This Nashville-based metalcore band of five have their first EP entitled Ghost, and their sophomore EP as Preservere. Hear their latest EP, Somber, on Spotify, and get into Tell the Wolves I’m Home sooner rather than later. While you’re at it, listen to their cover of The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” because TTWIH is well worth your time.
